Lymphoma
Masculine cell lymphoma (MCL) is a subtype of NHL with a poor prognosis;
MCL is diagnosed primarily on the basis of typical histomorphologic features, immunophenotypes and/or t(11;14)/CCND1 abnormalities; typical immunophenotypes are CD5+,CD20+, CD23-/+, CyclinD1+,CD10-/+;
t(11;14) ( q13; q32) occurs in 75% of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and can be used to aid in the diagnosis of this tumor;
is used to differentiate MCL from CLL.
Multiple myeloma (MM)
t(11;14) is the most common aberrant translocation in MM;
Aids in the diagnosis of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
